Edward Balliol was crowned at Scone on 24 September 1332.

Edward Balliol was crowned at Scone on 24 September 1332. He managed to rule Scotland for just four years (from 1332 to 1336) with assistance from the English. Balliol was forced to flee the country just weeks after his coronation, following the Battle of Annan. Edward III of England restored him to his throne but he was finally deposed in 1336 when David II returned from exile in France.

Balliol lived out the rest of his days in England, having exchanged his claim to the throne for an English pension. He died at Wheatley in Yorkshire in 1367.
