To coincide with the forthcoming March Food and Drink Special issue of Scottish Memories, we’re inviting you to send in your traditional family recipes that have been passed down through the generations.
  • Did your great granny make a mean clootie dumpling?
  • Does your family have a favourite haggis recipe?
  • Which food and drink family traditions do you still honour?
Share your recipe and the story behind it and you could win a Bake with Maw Broon book, worth £14.99, courtesy of Black and White Publishing.

We’d love to see a related family photo too – perhaps of your granny in her apron ready to cook – so why not send them in too?

It's the Year of Food & Drink Scotland and throughout 2015 Scottish food and drink producers will be celebrating and showcasing the variety and appeal of the country's cuisine.

But what about the many family recipes that have been passed down through the generations?

The March issue of Scottish Memories will celebrate both the array of producers the country now boasts while keeping traditional recipes and cooking alive, through memories and the sharing of family recipes.

To enter the competition e-mail your recipe or story to: [email protected]
Please provide high-resolution photographs if possible.

Three winners will be selected from entries and will receive the prize.
Entries no longer than 500 words.
Your entry may be published in a future issue of Scottish Memories magazine and on the History Scotland website.
Closing date: 2 March, 2015
