An important centenary

Frances Moreton, Director of War Memorials Trust said: 'We are delighted to see so many projects benefitting from grants through the Centenary Memorials Restoration Fund. The charity is delighted to be administering the scheme on behalf of Historic Scotland and the Scottish Government and we encourage communities across Scotland to get in touch if they want to repair and conserve their war memorials.

'We hope this announcement today alongside events such as "The Repair and Maintenance of war memorials" seminar, and the site visits being made by our Conservation Officer in Scotland, will help spread the word about the scheme and ensure war memorials across Scotland benefit from this funding over the next few years as we all mark the centenary of the First World War.'
