Spotlight on Stirling Local History Society

93598020-c1da-47d0-bcbb-21193f6d3aac
We highlight the events and activities of Stirling Local History Society.

Stirling Local History Society was founded in 2006 with the aim of promoting interest in, and raising public awareness and understanding of, the local history of Stirling through education, research and lifelong learning initiatives.

The Society also aims to develop links with other groups with related interests and with the wider community in Stirling and surrounding area. The group also provides information on projects and events relevant to Stirling’s history and their impact on the modern city.

Membership of the Society should appeal to all those who have an interest in learning more about the history of Stirling and its cultural heritage. The group also aims to provide a forum where members can share their interests and findings informally.

Illustrated lectures are held in the Smith Art Gallery and Museum, Dumbarton Road, Stirling on the last Thursday of each month from October to April (no meeting in December). Meetings begin at 7.30pm and non-members are very welcome. The subject of these talks embrace all aspects of Stirling’s very varied history and there is always an opportunity for questions and discussions.

For more information, visit the group's website.
