Light and sound will transform a city treasure as the programme for the University of Dundee’s Festival of the Future is unveiled.

Aerial dancers, a stunning light show and a specially commissioned musical score will turn the University’s Botanic Garden into an open air performance space as just one of more than 40 planned events to take place between 12-16 October.

Running over three consecutive nights, the show, Over the Garden Wall, will form an immersive family experience that promises to shed new light – literally – on the botanic garden.

“Dundee has enjoyed a cultural renaissance in recent years, but the city has never seen anything quite like this before,” said Emma Preston, Festival Organiser.

“Over the Garden Wall will bring an entirely new look to this beloved space, shining a light on parts of it that even regular visits may have overlooked.

“Combining colour with performance and specially commissioned music, we want people to take a new look at the Garden and to celebrate the life that exists there in a way that people of all ages can enjoy.”
