Cathedral's around Scotland will be taking part in a nationwide Cathedral Pilgrimage in a Day project, launched by the British Pilgrimage Trust to encourage people of all faiths and none to enjoy these historic buildings.

The accessible one-day pilgrimages cover cathedrals the length and breadth of Britain, and in many cases link into longer, already established routes, which in Scotland include:

  • The Borders Abbeys Way
  • St Duthac's Way
  • The Rosslyn Chapel Way
  • St Columba's Way

Listen to Guy Hayward of the British Pilgrimage Trust launching the project on Radio 4 earlier this month here.

At some of the sites, pilgrims can also arrive in time for Choral Evensong – a 45-min service of music sung by world-class choirs, for free.
