A new collection of resources for people who create, use and care for replicas has been launched.

New Future For Replicas is place for joined-up thinking and working with replicas, particularly analogue replicas, informed by current ideas about authenticity, value and significance.

It is aimed particularly at:

  • museum and heritage practitioners: curators, heritage managers, collection managers, conservators, interpretations providers, education providers
  • researchers
  • individuals / communities who commission replicas
  • people, companies and organizations who create or own replicas
  • educators and other who actively engage with replicas

The site is the work of a group of researchers, museum curators and heritage practitioners from north-west Europe interested in replicas and the wider implications of critical thinking about them. At the invitation of the University of Stirling they came together to co-produce an independent statement about replicas.
