New Gold Award for Robert Burns Birthplace Museum at the Rose Design Awards.
The National Trust for Scotland’s Robert Burns Birthplace Museum has continued its winning streak with a new Gold award at the UK-wide Roses Design Awards, held in Manchester in October 2011.
Nat Edwards, Director at the museum, said: We are really pleased that after almost one year in operation, the museum is continuing to attract attention and recognition from all over the UK. When we were creating this fantastic place, everyone was working hard to make sure it would be world-class. With a case full of awards, we can be sure we’ve achieved that goal. But, importantly, we also know it’s a big hit with the public, as feedback from our visitors is really fantastic.’
The £21 million museum opened to the public early in 2011 and presents the story of Robert Burns through an exhibition space divided into four areas: Identity, Inspiration, Fame and Creative Works.
