King James V of Scotland was born on 10 April 1512, at Linlithgow Palace. ...

King James V of Scotland was born at Linlithgow Palace on 10 April 1512, the son of James IV and Margaret Tudor. James V's father was killed less than two years after his birth and he was crowned king in the September of 1513. As his father before him, James V died at a comparatively young age (thirty years old) and was succeeded by his daughter Mary, who became Mary Queen of Scots.
