Scottish philosopher Thomas Reid, founder of the Scottish School of Common Sense was born on 26 April 1710. ...

Reverend Reid spent much of his early life in Aberdeen and it was here that he founded the 'Wise Club', a literary-philosophical association. His most famous work is An Inquiry Into the Human Mind on the Principles of Common Sense, published in 1764.
