Scottish philosopher Thomas Reid was born - On this day in history

Reverend Reid spent much of his early life in Aberdeen and it was here that he founded the 'Wise Club', a literary-philosophical association. His most famous work is An Inquiry Into the Human Mind on the Principles of Common Sense, published in 1764.
