RootsTech Connect 2022 welcomed more than a million participants from around the world on 3-5 March 2022. Read on to find out how to access the free video sessions for a year.
The 2022 theme for the annual RootsTech conference was 'making connections' and there are more than 1,500 sessions available to watch, covering genealog all around the world. You can create a playlist at the RootsTech website and save sessions that you want to view – and these are available for a year.
1 Register at FamilySearch
To start with, register at FamilySearch to create a free account that will allow you to access the RootsTech conference material.
2 Sign into RootsTech
Sign in at RootsTech, using the button on the top right, as shown below.
3 Explore the sessions
The sessions can be found in the middle of the top menu on the RootsTech home screen. Here, you can browse more than 1,500 sessions, use the filters to narrow down your choices, and explore the get started guide.
You can also find curated session suggestions under topics including
- Advanced skills
- DNA
- Homeland heritage
- Quest for connection
- Get started
4 Create your playlist
Once you've found a session you'd like to view, you can either watch it then and there and/or add it to your playlist to watch later. To do this, simply select the session, then click 'add to playlist' as shown below.
5 Browse Scottish family history content
Use the search button at the top of the 'sessions' page to find specific Scottish content. At the time of writing, there were more than 20 sessions to explore, ranging from basic research skills through to specific record sets such as the sheriff cours.
