The National Museum of Scotland has a collection of historic objects which inspired the Disney Pixar film Brave, on display during the summer of 2012.

A collection of objects which helped inspire the makers of the Disney Pixar film Brave will be on display at the National Museum of Scotland during the summer of 2012. Brave which is due for release in mid August 2012 tells the story of the Princess Merida and her determination to carve her own path in life. Featuring the voices of Billy Connolly and Kelly Macdonald, the film looks set to put Scotland's history and heritage in the spotlight.

During 2006 and 2007, Disney Pixar photographed objects from the National Museum of Scotland as inspiration for the making of Brave and some of these items are now on display at the Edinburgh museum, including the Lewis Chessmen, horse adornments and Pictish stones.
