The Stewart Society is open to all who bear the name of Stewart (or one of its variants) and brings together members around the world through shared history, events and meetings.

The objects of the society are 'philanthropic, historical, genealogical, and to further kinship' and associate membership is available to anyone with an interest in the Stewarts and their history.

JOINING THE STEWART SOCIETY

The society holds a gathering each year and for the Year of Homecoming 2014, the Stewarts will gather at Ballone Castle on 20 to 22 August 2014. A spokesperson told History Scotland: ‘We have Stewarts coming home from all over the world. We have some members flying from Australia. We also have members coming from Sweden, France and the USA. All Stewarts/Stuarts and septs of the Stewart clan are most welcome.

‘There will be a Stewart Highland games, the chance to meet other Stewarts, as well as music, a dinner and a ceilidh, all centred around the beautiful Ballone Castle owned by Lachlan Stewart, president of the Stewart Society.'
