The final Glasgow tram left Dalmuir on 4 September 1962. ...

The last Glasgow tram left the Dalmuir terminal on 4 September 1962, watched by a crowd of 200,000. Glasgow's tram service had been running since 1872 and the route taken by the final tram ran from Dalmuir to the Auchenshuggle terminal, with passengers on board who were issued with souvenir tickets for this last run.

The green and yellow tramcars were a familiar sight in the city and the Auchenshuggle route was known as no 9 and ran east of Glasgow, later being replaced by bus route no 64.
