Professor Gerard Carruthers is a renowned expert on the life and work of Robert Burns. He is Francis Hutcheson Chair of Scottish Literature at the University of Glasgow.
He founded the Centre for Robert Burns Studies in 2007 and is General Editor of the Oxford University Press Edition of The Works of Robert Burns. He is also Honorary Advisor to the National Trust for Scotland on Burns.
