Volunteers are taking part in a fieldwork project with Archaeology Shetland to record a number of prehistoric sites with likely Bronze Age origins at Breiwick on the Shetland mainland.

The volunteers will be recording uncatalogued prehistoric farmsteads and other features on a walk to Hawks Ness Broch. A brief reconnoitre previously found several sites that had not been surveyed and were not in the public record.

The volunteers spaces for this event have all been filled but you can see future events at the Archaeology Shetland website

Watch this space for a write-up on the findings in a coming issue of History Scotland magazine.
