Relive the news and film of 1986 in our Scottish Memories nostalgia video special.
In the September issue of Scottish Memories magazine we take a look at memories of the year 1986, with the launch of the Today newspaper, the Edinburgh Commonwealth Games and top films including Crocodile Dundee and Out of Africa.

This was the year that Helley's Comet was visible to the naked eye for the first time in 75 years. This video profiles the five spacecraft which were readied to study the comet up close:
And who could forget the cheeky-faced 'My Buddy', a cute doll from Playskool designed to help boys get in touch with their emotions - although many of us will remembers sons or brothers throwing them around the house and garden with abandon!
